Do you skip making cozy crochet sweater patterns because you’re worried they won’t fit?
You can easily fix the fit of many crochet tops with simple math. If numbers make you nervous, we’ll walk through the steps together using two stitches and just three body measurements.
What you will learn
- Measure gauge confidently using two different stitches.
- Calculate stitches and rows per inch or centimeter.
- Practice making simple adjustments based on your unique body measurements.

Required Knowledge
- This class best suits crocheters that have experience with making a sized wearable project, or a maker ready to make their first wearable where sizing matters.
Supplies
- Pre-made crochet swatches from pre-class homework
- Pencil or pen
- Handout
Pre-class Homework
- You will be provided with a handout prior to class, so that you can have the following prepared:
- Two swatches in the specified stitches, at least 6 in. x 6 in. / 15 cm x 15 cm in size. Use a smooth, light-color yarn in any weight so your stitches are easy to see.
- Measure and record specified body measurements.
