Retreat attendees will meet with Julie to demystify crochet socks.
In this class, we’ll break down sock construction step by step and explore how crochet can create socks that are comfortable, well-fitting, and beautiful.
We’ll look closely at each section of a crochet sock—toe, foot, heel, and leg—and how they work together. A crochet sock pattern is included so you can put the concepts into practice after class.
In this class, you’ll learn:
By the end of the class, you most definitely won’t leave with a finished sock, but you will leave with a clear understanding of how crochet socks work and the confidence to make one independently.
How to use increases and decreases to make shapes beyond squares. Techniques learned can be used to create different shawl shapes, necklines and armholes.
Delta lace creates an open, flowing fabric with remarkable drape. It's a traditional technique that translates beautifully to modern yarn, and it's more approachable than it looks. In this class, you'll learn three versions of delta lace: double crochet, triple crochet, and double triple crochet. Each variation creates a different texture and density, giving you flexibility in your designs. We'll put these skills to work immediately by starting a shawl together. By the end of class, you'll have a strong foundation and enough of your shawl completed tofinish confidently at home.
This is lace that feels both classic and contemporary. You'll love how it moves.
